Through the Spyglass: Smarter Dashboards and Sharper Insights Coming to Helm CONNECT Analytics
The next release of Helm CONNECT Analytics will bring two brand-new dashboards, one fully rebuilt one, and a long list of improvements designed to change how you spot problems, plan procurement, and make decisions across your fleet.
Here's a tour of what's coming.
Three Dashboards Worth Talking About
New Requisitions Dashboard for Maintenance Pro
If you've ever wondered which requisitions are quietly piling up, which vendors are sitting on the most pending orders, or whether you're paying more than you need to for the same part, the new Requisitions dashboard answers all of that in one place.
It gives you a comprehensive view of requisitions across your fleet, with tabs to switch between Open Requisitions and Closed Requisitions views. You can identify the top requisitions that need immediate attention, see which vendors have the most pending requisitions, compare vendor pricing to find better deals, and plan procurement by division and vendor to maximize savings. There's also a requisition cycle time analysis, so you can see how long requisitions spend in each status. Bottlenecks become much easier to spot.
New Inventory Dashboard for Maintenance Pro
The new Inventory dashboard gives you a clear view of inventory health and value across your assets. You can see which parts are out of stock, identify parts that have dropped below the minimum required quantity, and flag overstocked items. On the value side, you'll see the worth of parts stocked on each asset, with breakdowns by part and category for detailed cost visibility.
A Rebuilt Vessel Utilization Activities Dashboard for Logistics Pro
We rebuilt the Vessel Utilization Activitiesdashboard from the ground up. The new version gives you deeper insight into fleet performance, including fleet availability, utilization rates, and downtime.
You can also group activity types into activity groups for higher-level analysis, view hours worked per activity group, and for each day, see how the 24 hours were distributed across hours worked, hours out of service, and hours with no activity. It's a much clearer picture of where time is actually going.
Smarter Existing Dashboards
We didn't stop at new builds. Several of your existing dashboards are getting meaningful upgrades.
Maintenance Pro Tasks. We added Component Type to the dropdown in the Average Tasks per Month visual and introduced a new visual called # Tasks Opened by Month, with dynamic break by Severity and Task Type. The View button now opens the actual task record instead of the task history entry. We also added a Task Type dashboard filter.
Compliance Pro Audits. The Avg Findings per Asset metric has a new option, Excl. Zero-Finding Assets, that gives you a clearer view by excluding assets without findings. Non-Conforming Findings now displays the numerator and denominator alongside the percentage, so the math behind the number is right there. We also added a new dashboard card for Audits with Non-Conforming Findings.
Compliance Pro Forms. A few good ones here. We added a date selection option alongside the existing "Last X Days" filter, so you can view form completion insights from any selected date up to today. You can now show or hide the Asset column in the Form Matrix - Crew Monthly table. And there's a new Currently Onboarded dashboard filter that automatically sources onboarded status from the Crew Changes page, so your Crew visuals can show only the people currently aboard.
Logistics Pro Management. The Revenue Distribution visual now displays revenue values with two decimal places for improved accuracy and consistency.
Default Analytics Page. We refreshed the design and added dynamic top KPI cards that adjust based on the modules you have enabled. If you only have Audits, Maintenance, and Forms, those are the only KPI cards you'll see. Less clutter, more clarity. We also added more relevant KPIs and metrics to the top KPI cards.
The Little Things That Add Up
Two improvements that apply across Helm CONNECT Analytics:
Filter and Selection Persistence. Dropdown and button selections (the kind you use to toggle fields or dimensions) now save automatically and restore when you refresh the page. No more reapplying your settings every time you reload a dashboard.
Accurate Data Exports. Previously, downloaded images and CSV files reflected data for the default selection regardless of what you'd chosen. Downloads now correctly reflect your active selection. If you've got Last 45 Days selected in the Compliance dashboard, your export will include the full 45 days, not the default 30.
Coming Soon
All of this is coming soon to Helm CONNECT Analytics. Keep an eye out for the official release announcement, and reach out to your account manager if you'd like to talk through how these changes will affect your team.
