Big Changes on the Horizon: Helm CONNECT Jobs Will Soon Become Logistics
At Helm Conference 2025, Rachel Aylard, Product Manager for Helm CONNECT Jobs, shared some exciting news about the future of the product line. For those who weren’t able to join us at the conference, here’s a recap of what we announced, and what it means for you.
From Jobs to Logistics
Over the past several years, Helm CONNECT Jobs has evolved far beyond its original purpose. What began as a way to dispatch and bill harbor docking jobs has grown into a complete logistics platform — one that now supports cargo and fluid tracking, crew changes, passenger operations, and more.
Today, it’s used by customers across diverse sectors — from harbor docking and OSVs to barges and passenger vessels. To reflect that growth and the platform’s broader capabilities, we’re rebranding Helm CONNECT Jobs as Helm CONNECT Logistics.
In-app, you’ll soon see “Logistics” where you previously saw “Jobs,” both onboard and on shore. Your existing data and workflows will remain the same; the only change will be the label on some items.
Based on feedback from Helm Conference attendees who wanted time to help crews adjust, Version 1.34 will temporarily display “Logistics (Jobs)” throughout the system. Starting in Version 1.35, we’ll fully transition to “Logistics.”
More Capabilities for Logbook Module Subscribers
Starting in Version 1.34, we’ll be turning on the rest of the Logbook module’s existing capabilities for all Logbook subscribers. Many of you may not have explored these tools yet, and this release is a chance to start taking advantage of them:
Manifest: Track non-crew passengers onboard, such as customers, vendors, and contractors, and report on them when needed.
Multi Crew Changes: Handle single or multiple crew changes from one streamlined interface, making rotations faster and easier to manage while reducing errors. For subscribers to the Crew Scheduling module, your planned crew changes will sync with the Upcoming Work widget, so clicking a crew change card will take you to the Crew Changes tab.
Cargo and Fluid Inventory: Monitor, track, and report on transactions for dry and liquid cargo, as well as onboard consumable fluids, directly from the Cargo tab.
E-signatures: Enable authorized personnel to securely sign entries, with full traceability for compliance.
All of these features will be automatically enabled for admin users in Version 1.34. From there, your administrators can configure the settings and permissions that make sense for your operation before rolling them out to your crews.
Looking Ahead
The rebrand to Helm CONNECT Logistics marks an important milestone — aligning the product’s name with its purpose and setting the stage for the future. Turning on the remainder of the Logbook module’s capabilities is just the beginning. We’re continuing to evolve Helm CONNECT to deliver even more connected, intelligent tools that simplify operations and help maritime teams work smarter.
We’re excited to share this next step with you in Version 1.34. In the meantime, explore more about Logistics and get ready to take your operations to new heights!
