Helm CONNECT 1.11 Release

It’s been a busy summer here at Helm. We are ramping up for the fall, football season, the school year, and the return of Helm Conference! On top of all that, we’re also rolling out another release of Helm CONNECT, chock full of new features and improvements to make your job easier. If you missed what happened in our last release, you can read about it here.

Here’s what you can look forward to in Helm CONNECT 1.11:

Meet the new kid on the block: Advanced Search
Ever since we released Helm CONNECT Compliance, you’ve been asking for a tool that allows you to easily track work from a single dashboard. In this release, we’re delivering on that promise with Advanced Search—a flexible, customizable search tool that pulls together all the open/active inspections, maintenance routines, inventory counts, forms, tasks and corrective actions from across your fleet.

We designed Advanced Search to be the 2.0 version of our Overview dashboard, and we’ll help you transition to Advanced Search over the next few releases. In Helm CONNECT Version 1.11, you can:

  1. Build any search you want. You want to see all open items for a single asset or across a group of assets? Sure! You want to check the status of specific forms or inspections across your whole fleet? No problem!
  2. Save your most commonly used searches for later, and share them with your staff and colleagues to help them manage work.
  3. Use permissions so your colleagues see just the searches and information they need to do their job.

In this release, your account manager can turn on Advanced Search so you can begin using the new functionality. During the transition, we’re adding some more filters and functionality. Then we’ll be ready to phase out the old Details tab early next year.

Your account manager will be in touch soon to show you just how powerful Advanced Search can be. In the mean time, check out this article for more details.

Apply running hours to grouped components
Tracking running hours on complex equipment, like your engines and other critical equipment, used to require entering data multiple times for each sub-component. Thanks to your feedback, we’ve made it easier. You can now group components and sub-components on your maintenance routines. Enter the hours for a component once, and these hours are applied to all of the items in that group. Need to make an edit? Don’t worry. Your crews can edit any of the inherited hours before finishing their checklists. Check out this article for more details.

Send declined forms back for corrections
Based on user feedback, we also improved the decline functionality on forms. Now when you decline a form, you can choose to send it back if it needs corrections. Once the edits are made, the form can be re-submitted for approval. Declined forms are marked with a red ‘thumbs down’ icon so you can easily see them. Check out this article for more details.

Trigger forms with planned crew changes
With the release of Helm CONNECT Personnel, we worked to make forms even more powerful. Now you can trigger forms each time you complete a planned crew change. This is awesome piece of functionality is for those of you who subscribe to both Helm CONNECT Personnel and Helm CONNECT Compliance! Check out this article for more details.

See billing calculations with a transaction tooltip
Here’s another great feature we added, based on user feedback. In Helm CONNECT Jobs, we now made it super simple to determine exactly how your billing is calculated. On your invoices in Billing, you can click a new Billing Info icon to the left of any transaction line to see useful billing information, such as the contract or tariff, any conditions, and the calculation formula. Even better, the displayed information is linked to directly to the contracts and rules so you can see exactly how each item was generated. Simple, straightforward, and guaranteed to make your life easier.

As always, these are only a few of the features fixes and improvements we included in this release. Check out the full details in our release notes. As we prepare for Helm Conference this month, we’re still working hard to get the next release out. In fact, our winter release is looking like it’ll be one of the biggest in a year already packed with major new feature improvements. Want a sneak peak at what’s coming? Reach out to your account manager for an overview of what’s next on our roadmap.
