Helm CONNECT as a collaboration tool

Do you know what it’s like to work with a group of individuals who never seem to know who has done what? who said what? when were things done? who authorized what? what’s upcoming? what is due? and so forthIf you’ve felt this kind of pain before, rest easy, you are not alone. Call it communication breakdown, poor management, lack of organization, or faulty teamwork, but the truth is most of the time the one thing that could have prevented this type of frustration is a collaboration tool.

So what does a collaboration tool do? Well, simply put, it supports a group of two or more individuals to accomplish a common goal or objective they have set themselves.

At Helm Operations, we take pride in our collaboration. When we collaborate effectively, we see:

  • Better morale
  • An increase in team and individual efficiency
  • Better communication
  • Heightened problem-solving
  • More consistency and clarity
  • Greater accountability and transparency

The thing is we wouldn’t be able to realize these kinds of results if we didn’t have tools in place to support our objectives. I’m positioned in our Sales department and we use a variety of cloud-based collaboration tools to accomplish our goals. Without these tools I’d be blind as a bat on a bright sunny day.

Knowing how important effective collaboration is, we’ve built our marine software, Helm CONNECT, to support groups accomplish their goals. Let’s face it if you work for a maritime company, especially in maintenance or compliance, then most likely you are part of a team, and that team has goals to achieve.

Helm CONNECT streamlines maintenance and compliance routines and it does so by being an effective collaboration tool – because that’s what maintenance and compliance are all about. What’s more, as a result of effective collaboration it leads to all of those cool organizational benefits, too like greater accountability and better communication.

Cloud-based collaboration tools aren’t only effective and efficient; collaboration tools are cool because they bring people together through one centralized system, so they have access to past, current and future information so you’ll never have to ask the question who has done what? ever again.
